Hello! I am Kristy Stamper, OT. For the last 20+ years I have been an occupational therapist. It is what has defined who I am and what I do. That in and of itself speaks wonders and mystery, as still many of my own family still probably could not define what that is. During the years, I have worked in many settings with people across the life span and have dedicated myself to always striving to be the best, provide the best, and advocate for the best. Let’s be honest with each other. If you have worked in healthcare more than a year, you have probably began to ask yourself why did I do this, stated I can’t do what I feel like needs to be done, and of course bombarded with a never ending flow of documentation and changing parameters to do what you do. In this page, I hope to provide some of the “best” practices I know for providing OT, to highlight therapists who excel at what they do, and celebrate clients and families that “get” the power of “occupation”. I think the most powerful and meaningful part of what we do is connecting with others through shared sorrow and joy, frustration and success, loss and hope, …..there is always hope! Hope and love is the key…..
“When we love, we always strive to become better than we are. When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”
― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit”
-Romans 15:13
